Spinning tops
These top sets consist of a flat piece of bark, a clay ball and some sand. Sand sprinkled on the bark acts like a lot of little ball-bearings, helping the ball to keep spinning. They came from the Diamantina River area in Central Western Queensland.

Another style of top is more like European ones. These have a central shaft and a disk made of beeswax, decorated with bright seeds. These came from the Arakun district in North Queensland.
